Textiles West invites you to be a part of our first community textile art project!

From 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Susan Haldeman, co-director of Textiles West, will present examples of successful Textile Art community projects from around the world. Then we invite you to participate in the launch of our own community project.

We invite all communities in the Colorado Springs area: The art community, colleges, after school programs, guilds, and clubs, families and individuals. All ages are welcome to share in this creative project.

From 2-4 p.m.

In the afternoon stitch-in, learn about the simple sewing Korean sewing technique that we will be using to create the panels in our community project.

Also, be a part of choosing relevant and inspiring words that we will be incorporating into our project pieces.

We will have community open stitch days, the last Saturday of each month through September for people to come together to build panels.

All will culminate with panels being on display October 21 at our TACTILE event and also at a prominent public location to be determined.

It's a free event, but please go through process to register so we know you are attending. You will not be charged.  Thanks so much!
