Join Ruth Chandler in the Thread Lab for this 4-day workshop that runs from Tuesday, March 28th to Friday, March 31st from 1 pm to 3 pm. Learn basic garment construction skills needed to make a one of a kind skirt. The first day of the workshop you will learn how to read a pattern and which types of fabric work best for your project, as well as the zippers and other items you may want to add to the skirt to make it uniquely yours.
After this session, you'll be ready to shop for what you'll need to bring for the next day. In the following days you will cut our fabric for your skirt after making individual changes and fitting. Learn how to insert a zipper, waistbands and other basics. You will also have a final fitting to make any last minute changes before finishing the hem.
Sewing machine with all cords and accessories. The class cost is $125 with a materials list is available the first day of class and a $20 fee due on first day of class. Schedule time to shop for fabric and notions after the first class.
