Boro, the Art of Tattered Patches
Ruth had the privilege of a childhood in Japan where she was introduced to so many Japanese art forms. Boro is one that resonates with her and all of us especially today with the upcycle and slow movements. Boro means tattered rags in Japanese. The clothing and items with Boro patching were literally used for generations. Ruth will share some of her stories of time in Japan and lead you through the history and “generations” that represent the Boro process. Don't forget to attend Ruth's pop-up class that follows Saturday's lecture!
