Class Description: Have you ever wanted to try indigo dyeing and just wasn't sure where to start or how ? This is the class for you! Get a taste of stitch resist (nui shibori) folded and clamped (itajime shibori) and pole wrapped (arashi shibori). You will go home with many pieces of indigo to use in your art, garments, or home. I promise you, by the end of the day you will be tired, a little blue in places and totally inspired!

Materials fee: $40 Includes dye and several different types of fabrics, and all tools needed to indigo dye

Student supply list:

Natural fibers you want to dye.  Don't forget the garments that may have stains! You will give them a whole new life. Clothes and shoes that can be stained with dye. You will get messy!

Number of hours for class: 6hrs, 1 hour lunch break

Class Level: Fascination – These classes will introduce you to a new skill, concept or technique and are open to all levels. The student may, however, be required to have a basic skill or have taken a certification class. For example, for a flat-pattern drafting class one need not know anything about flat-pattern drafting but should have a basic understanding of the sewing machine. Any prerequisites will be listed in the class description.
